Wrestling

Takedowns, control and relentless conditioning.

Overview

About Wrestling

Wrestling is one of the oldest sports in recorded history — depicted in Ancient Greek art and contested at the very first modern Olympics — and its influence runs through nearly every combat sport that came after it. There’s no striking and no submissions in the traditional sense; the entire contest is decided by takedowns, throws, pins and positional control, which makes it the purest test of leverage, timing and will in the gym.

The sport is built around a handful of core skills: a low, ready stance and constant motion to stay hard to hit, explosive shot entries to close distance and take an opponent down, and relentless control once you get there — whether that means finishing a pin or simply denying your opponent any way back to their feet. Defensively, sprawling (driving your hips back and your weight down to stop a takedown) is one of the first things every wrestler learns, and one of the most useful skills in all of MMA.

Class typically starts with stance-and-motion drills and technical breakdowns of a specific takedown or setup, moves into partner reps where you drill the sequence live, and finishes with situational or live wrestling where you test it against real resistance. Because there’s no built-in rest between exchanges the way there is between striking rounds, wrestling has a reputation as one of the most physically demanding disciplines in combat sports.

That demand is exactly why it’s so valuable: wrestling builds a rare combination of explosive power, grinding endurance and mental toughness, and it’s widely considered the foundation that everything else in MMA sits on top of — if you control where the fight happens, you control the fight. A High-Performance track (14+) is available for competitive athletes, alongside classes built for anyone looking to build serious strength and conditioning.

Why train Wrestling

What You’ll Get

01

Foundation Of MMA

Control where a fight happens — standing or on the ground — and you control how it goes. Wrestling is the skill that makes that possible.

02

Unmatched Conditioning

No built-in rest between exchanges makes wrestling one of the most demanding, effective conditioning workouts in the building.

03

Explosive, Functional Power

Takedowns and control positions build full-body strength and hip power that transfers directly to every other sport.

04

High-Performance Track

A dedicated competitive track for ages 14+, alongside classes built for anyone looking to get in serious shape.
