In short: we collect your details when you contact us, we record what people ask the site assistant so we can improve it, and we count page and QR-code visits without storing your IP address. We do not sell your information to anyone.
This policy explains what Xtreme Couture Toronto does with personal information collected through this website. We are located at 700 Kipling Avenue, Etobicoke, Ontario M8Z 5G3, and you can reach us at info@xtremecouture.ca or (416) 503-1600.
We collect personal information in three situations, and only those three. We do not buy contact lists, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Our enquiry and free-pass forms ask for your name, email address, telephone number and whatever you write in the message. That goes to the gym as an email so that a member of staff can reply. We keep it for as long as we are dealing with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, and we use it only to answer you and, if you become a member, to administer your membership.
The site carries an assistant that answers questions
about classes, coaches and the clinic. The questions people type are recorded, together
with the date, an anonymous session identifier and whether the assistant was able to answer.
We use this to find questions it answers badly and fix them.
Please do not type payment details, health information or anything else sensitive
into it. If you tell the assistant your name and email so we can arrange a free pass, that
information is handled in the same way as an enquiry form.
We record which pages are viewed, which of the QR
codes around the gym was scanned, what is tapped, and whether you are on a phone or a desktop.
This tells us which signs and which pages are actually used.
We do not store your IP address. It is converted into a one-way scrambled value
that lets us count returning visitors without being able to work backwards to the address it
came from, and it cannot be used to identify you.
The site uses your browser's own storage to remember things it needs to work — for example, what is in your shopping bag while you browse the store. That information stays in your browser and is not sent to us. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not track you across other websites.
Some parts of the site rely on other companies, and this is the complete list:
The online store keeps your shopping bag in your own browser until you check out. [Confirm before launch: which processor handles payment, and whether accounts are created.] We never see or store full card numbers.
Our youth programmes are for children, and a parent or guardian — not the
child — should be the one contacting us. We do not knowingly collect information
directly from a child through this website. If you believe we have, contact us and we will
delete it.
Photographs of children are only published where a parent or guardian has given
written permission, and that permission can be withdrawn at any time.
Enquiries are kept while we deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards. Assistant questions and site analytics are kept in a form that does not identify you. Membership records are kept for as long as you are a member and for as long afterwards as the law requires. [Confirm your retention periods with your accountant and counsel.]
Under Canadian privacy law you can ask us what personal information we hold
about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and withdraw your consent to us using it,
subject to legal and contractual limits. Write to
info@xtremecouture.ca and we will respond.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the
Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss and unauthorised access. No website can promise perfect security, and we do not.
If we change this policy we will change the date at the top. Material changes will be brought to your attention on the site.
