Kids Boxing

Footwork, fundamentals and fun.

Overview

About Kids Boxing

Kids Boxing introduces the fundamentals — stance, footwork, guard and combinations — in a fun, structured environment that builds coordination and confidence.

A Strength & Conditioning option layers in age-appropriate fitness so kids develop athleticism alongside skill, all under certified, Safe-Contact coaches.

The thing parents usually want to know is how much contact there is, and the honest answer is that most of a kids’ boxing hour is not contact at all. It is footwork, shadow work, pads and bag work — learning to throw a punch properly and, just as much, to move so one does not land. The technique comes a long way before anything else does.

What it is unusually good at is posture and attention. A child cannot throw a decent jab while slouching or looking at the floor, so the class quietly corrects both. It is also the most rhythmic thing on the youth timetable, which suits kids who find sitting still difficult and want somewhere to put it.

Why train Kids Boxing

What You’ll Get

01

Technique Long Before Contact

Footwork, shadow work, pads and bag work make up most of the hour. Learning to move so a punch misses comes before learning to throw one.

02

Posture And Eye Contact

You cannot throw a proper jab while slouching or staring at the floor. The class corrects both without ever making it the lesson.

03

Somewhere To Put The Energy

Rhythmic, loud and constantly moving. It suits the children who struggle most with sitting still, which is usually why they are brought in.

04

Conditioning Built For Their Age

The Strength & Conditioning option adds fitness scaled for growing bodies rather than a shrunken adult programme.
